Gas Tank Comes Off
Today I removed the gas tank. The fuel lines are in rough shape and the tank has a fine coating of rust on the inside. I haven't decided if I'm going to use this tank or not. It will depend one what direction I decide to go with the project.

Disassembly Continues
I got to spend a little more time on the bike today. I removed the toolbox. There was a hose that ran through a loop on the toolbox that lead to the battery box. I'm not sure where it was supposed to be connected because neither end was connected to anything. I also removed the crash bar, mirrors, rear fender, clutch lever, exhaust pipes, and headers. The headers will definitely need to be rechromed because they've got some serious rust on them. The pipes are in rough shape as well but I'm going to be replacing them.

Disassembly Begins
At this point I'm not sure how much of the original parts I will be keeping so I'm trying to document as much of the disassembly as possible. I decided to start at the rear of the bike and work my way to the front. I removed the tail light, rear indicators, seat, and the air box covers. The tail light was cracked but I have no intention of keeping it on the bike anyways so it doesn't matter.

1972 Honda CB450 K5
I found this little diamond in the rough in Cleveland after months of scouring Craigslist. A few days later and a 6 hour round trip and she is all mine. It's a 1972 Honda CB450 K5. It hasn't been ridden in a few years but the engine kicks over and the electric looks good. As far as I can tell everything is original except for the horrible looking seat "king and queen" seat.
